Selection process
- 1Selection for the post of Junior Hindi Translator shall be based on a Written Examination consisting of two papers.
- 2Paper-I (Objective Type): Part-I: General Hindi (100 Questions/100 Marks) and Part-II: General English (100 Questions/100 Marks). Duration: 2 Hours (with Sectional timer of 1 Hr for each part). Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer applies.
- 3Paper-II (Descriptive): Translation & Essay – 200 Marks. Duration: 2 Hours. Contains passages for translation (Hindi to English and English to Hindi) and an Essay in both Hindi and English.
- 4Based on marks scored in Paper-I, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear in Paper-II.
- 5For final merit, weightage will be 50% of scores in Paper-I and 100% of marks in Paper-II.
- 6Minimum Qualifying Marks in Paper-I: UR: 50%, OBC: 45%, SC: 40%.
- 7Minimum Marks for Final Selection/Merit: General: 50%, OBC: 45%, SC: 40%.
- 8Examination Centre: Delhi/NCR & Bengaluru.
- 9Tie Resolution: (i) Marks in Paper-II, (ii) Date of Birth (older candidate placed higher), (iii) Alphabetical order of names.

How to apply
- Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements may apply online at website www.stpi.in.
- No other mode of application shall be accepted.
- Candidates must fill the online application properly and complete all essential steps of the online application.
- Only completed filled online applications shall be considered for further process of recruitment.
- Persons working in Central/State Government/PSUs/Autonomous organizations may submit a copy of NOC issued from their organization at the time of applying online.
- Pay the application fee of ₹500/- (not applicable for female candidates and SC/ST/PH category candidates) through the mode specified in the online application portal.
- Candidates seeking reservation against reserved category posts shall upload their caste/category certificate in the prescribed format applicable for Central Govt. Organization.
Documents and additional conditions
Appointments made on Direct Recruitment basis shall be on probation for a period of two years from the date of joining the post. Number of posts may vary. STPI reserves the right not to fill up any of the posts. Selected candidates shall be liable to be posted at any centre of STPI across India. Immediate Absorption rule shall be applicable as per Govt. extant rules. Candidates working in Central/State Government/PSUs/Autonomous organizations must submit a copy of NOC at the time of applying online. Experience shall be considered only on post qualification basis. Candidates seeking OBC reservation must ensure they do not fall in the creamy layer on the closing date of application. Application Fee once received by STPI will not be returned under any circumstances. Any litigation will be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi courts.
