Selection process
- 1Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): Duration: 120 minutes, Total Questions: 100 (Analytical & Mathematical Capability: 60, Logical Capability: 20, Mental Reasoning: 20). Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS-40%, OBC(NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. Normalization applied for multiple shifts.
- 2Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies (RRB-wise) shortlisted from CBT merit. Minimum qualifying T-Score of 42 in each test battery required. No negative marking. Questions in English and Hindi only. Vision Certificate (Annexure VI/VIA) mandatory to appear in CBAT.
- 3Document Verification (DV): Candidates equal to the number of vacancies called based on combined merit (70% weightage to CBT + 30% weightage to CBAT). Tie-breaking by age (older candidate ranked higher), then alphabetical order of given name.
- 4Medical Examination: Candidates must pass Medical Standard A-2. Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses
- 5Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses. Must pass Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Myopic vision tests. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery are NOT eligible.

How to apply
- Visit the official RRB website listed at Para 19 of the CEN notification.
- Create an Account (or use existing account credentials from CEN notified in 2024/2025/2026).
- Authenticate identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation.
- Fill in the Online Application form carefully with correct information.
- Capture a live photograph as per instructions in Para 17.5.
- Upload scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format as per specifications.
- Upload SC/ST certificate (PDF) if requesting free train travel pass.
- Select preferred RRB and provide zone preferences.
- Pay the applicable examination fee online (internet banking/debit/credit card/UPI).
- Submit the application before 23:59 hrs on 14.08.2026.
- If modification is needed, pay Rs. 250 modification fee and make changes during 17.08.2026 to 26.08.2026.
- Candidates eligible for scribe must provide scribe details during 27.08.2026 to 31.08.2026.
