Selection process

  1. 1Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): Duration: 120 minutes, Total Questions: 100 (Analytical & Mathematical Capability: 60, Logical Capability: 20, Mental Reasoning: 20). Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS-40%, OBC(NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. Normalization applied for multiple shifts.
  2. 2Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies (RRB-wise) shortlisted from CBT merit. Minimum qualifying T-Score of 42 in each test battery required. No negative marking. Questions in English and Hindi only. Vision Certificate (Annexure VI/VIA) mandatory to appear in CBAT.
  3. 3Document Verification (DV): Candidates equal to the number of vacancies called based on combined merit (70% weightage to CBT + 30% weightage to CBAT). Tie-breaking by age (older candidate ranked higher), then alphabetical order of given name.
  4. 4Medical Examination: Candidates must pass Medical Standard A-2. Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses
  5. 5Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses. Must pass Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Myopic vision tests. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery are NOT eligible.

Application guide

How to apply

  1. Visit the official RRB website listed at Para 19 of the CEN notification.
  2. Create an Account (or use existing account credentials from CEN notified in 2024/2025/2026).
  3. Authenticate identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation.
  4. Fill in the Online Application form carefully with correct information.
  5. Capture a live photograph as per instructions in Para 17.5.
  6. Upload scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format as per specifications.
  7. Upload SC/ST certificate (PDF) if requesting free train travel pass.
  8. Select preferred RRB and provide zone preferences.
  9. Pay the applicable examination fee online (internet banking/debit/credit card/UPI).
  10. Submit the application before 23:59 hrs on 14.08.2026.
  11. If modification is needed, pay Rs. 250 modification fee and make changes during 17.08.2026 to 26.08.2026.
  12. Candidates eligible for scribe must provide scribe details during 27.08.2026 to 31.08.2026.
