Selection process

  1. 1Online Examination: Objective type test consisting of 140 questions carrying 200 marks with 4 sections: Reasoning and Computer Aptitude – 30 questions, 60 marks, 60 minutes General / Economy / Banking Awareness – 40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes Data Analysis and Interpretation – 30 questions, 60 marks, 60 minutes English Knowledge – 40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes Total Duration: 3 hours. Penalty: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer. Minimum qualifying aggregate: 30% for reserved candidates, 35% for unreserved candidates.

  8. 8Final Selection: Based on combined score of Online Exam and Personal Interview in the ratio of 80:20. Minimum aggregate: 30% for reserved categories and 35% for unreserved category. Merit list prepared state-wise and category-wise.

  4. On successful registration, an E-mail and SMS will be sent with Registration Number and Password.
  5. Log in and fill in all required details in the online application form carefully.

Other Important Information: Bond: Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of Rs. 2,00,000/- for rendering service for a minimum period of 3 years. Probation Period: 2 years (active service) from the date of joining. Posting: Selected candidates will be posted within the applied State for the first 12 years of service or up to promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier. Increments for Prior Experience: One advance increment per completed year of prior service as Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks, subject to a maximum of 2 increments, where job profile matches Scale-I Generalist Officer of IOB. Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC (NCL) – 3 years; PwBD – 10 years; Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 years; Ex-servicemen – 5 years. Application: Candidates must apply for ONE STATE only. Multiple applications for the same state: only the last submitted application will be considered. Pre-Examination Training: May be arranged online for SC/ST/OBC/Minority community candidates. Scribe: Visually impaired candidates and those with writing difficulty may use a scribe at their own cost. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour will be given. Travel Reimbursement: Outstation SC/ST/PwBD candidates (unemployed) attending Personal Interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class ordinary train fare by shortest route.
