Selection process

  1. 1Paper I: 50 compulsory objective questions (MCQ), 2 marks each, Total 100 marks. Duration: 1 Hour (10:00 AM to 11:15 AM). Tests reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness, and research aptitude. No negative marking.
  2. 2Paper II: 100 compulsory objective questions (MCQ) based on the candidate’s chosen subject, 2 marks each, Total 200 marks. Duration: 2 Hours (2:00 PM to 4:15 PM). No negative marking.
  3. 3Qualifying Criteria: Top 6% of candidates appearing in both Paper I and Paper II who secure at least 40% aggregate marks (both papers combined) for General Category, and at least 35% aggregate marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer, PWD, and Transgender), following the State Government’s reservation policy, will be declared qualified for eligibility as Assistant Professor.
  4. 4Evaluation is done via OMR machine. No re-evaluation/re-counting is available.
  5. 5Deleted/erroneous questions: All candidates receive bonus marks equal to the marks allotted to that question.

How to apply

  1. Visit the official website https://cgssb.cgstate.gov.in
  2. Complete Profile Registration (Panjikaran) on the portal with photo (.jpg/.jpeg, 50kb-100kb) and signature scan.
  3. After profile registration, apply for SET26 examination specifically.
  4. Fill in the online application form carefully with all required details.
  5. Pay the examination fee online through the prescribed payment method.
  6. Click the ‘SUBMIT’ button after successful fee payment.
  7. Take a printout of the successfully submitted application form and keep it safe.
  8. Error correction (if any) can be done within 3 days after the last date of application (18.08.2026 to 20.08.2026 up to 5:00 PM).

Other Important Information: Exam Centers: 10 District Headquarters in Chhattisgarh: Surguja (Ambikapur), Korea (Baikunthpur), Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Durg, Jagdalpur (Bastar), Kanker, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon. Fee Refund: Local residents of Chhattisgarh who appear in the exam will get their examination fee refunded to the same bank account used for payment, after result declaration. Admit Card: Will be uploaded on the website approximately 7 days before the exam. Candidates must download and print all pages (single-sided). Admit cards will NOT be sent by post. Documents Required at Exam Center: Admit Card + Original photo ID (Voter ID / Driving License / PAN Card / Aadhaar Card). Entry denied without original ID. Reporting Time: Candidates must report at least 2 hours before exam start time. Main gate closes 30 minutes before exam start (9:30 AM for Paper I, 1:30 PM for Paper II). Dress Code: Light-colored, half-sleeved clothes. Dark colors (black, dark blue, dark green, purple, maroon, dark chocolate) are prohibited. Wear slippers/sandals as footwear. No ear jewelry allowed. Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, electronic devices, electronic watches, purse, pouch, scarf, belt, cap, or any communication device inside the exam hall. Objection/Claim Fee: Rs. 50/- per question for filing online objections against model answers. Objections via post/email or in-person are not accepted.
