Selection process
- 1The selection for all advertised posts shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in the Written/OMR Examination only.
- 2The examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in English Language only.
- 3There will be Negative Marking for each wrong answer to the extent of one-fourth (1/4) of marks assigned to that question.
- 4Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written/OMR examination will be called for Document Verification (DV).
- 5Candidates must produce original documents along with self-attested photostat copies at the time of Document Verification.
- 6The date and venue/centre of examination shall be notified separately on the official website www.jkssb.nic.in.

How to apply
- Visit the official website of JKSSB at www.jkssb.nic.in.
- Read the Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2026 carefully before applying.
- Fill the Online Application Form with all required details including Name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name strictly as per Matriculation Certificate.
- Upload live photograph, signature (Size: 10 KB to 20 KB), Category Certificate (Max size: 100 KB in PDF format), and Qualification/Experience Certificates (Self-attested, Max size: 100 KB in PDF format).
- Pay the application fee online through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card (Rs. 600/- for General
- Rs. 500/- for SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, PwBD).
- Submit the Online Application Form before the last date i.e. 30.08.2026.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference and for submission at the time of Document Verification.
- In-service candidates must submit the printout of the filled online application form through proper channel (Head of Department) to the Office of the Secretary, JKSSB by or before the last date of Document Verification.

Other Important Information: Domicile Requirement: Candidates must be Domicile(s) of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on or before the cut-off date (30.08.2026). Reservation: Reservation is applicable as per Category-wise break up conveyed by the Indenting Department and/or Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act/Rules. Categories include OM, SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, OBC, PwBD, and ESM. Horizontal Reservation: Applicable for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as per extant rules. ESM horizontal reservation is applicable for posts carrying pay up to Level-6E (35900-113500). Ex-Servicemen Age Relaxation: ESM candidates may deduct the period of Armed Forces service from their actual age; if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years, they satisfy the age condition. Scribe Facility: PwBD candidates with valid disability certificate may avail scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination, subject to submission of required certificates (Annexure-B and Annexure-C). Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, pagers, electronic devices, smart watches, smart glasses, AI-enabled devices, cameras, Bluetooth devices, pen drives, and any storage media are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Misconduct: Candidates found indulging in irregularity/misconduct/malpractice shall be debarred from JKSSB examinations and may face criminal proceedings. Vacancy Variation: The actual number of posts may increase or decrease during or before completion of the selection process; JKSSB is not legally liable for any such variation. Single Application: Only one online application per Item Number is allowed. Multiple applications for the same Item No. will result in cancellation of candidature. No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance will be paid for participation in the written test or document verification.
