- 1Written Competitive Examination: Paper 1 (General Hindi): 50 MCQs, 100 marks, 1 hour duration. Minimum qualifying marks: 30. Each correct answer: +2 marks; each wrong answer: -0.2 marks. Marks NOT counted in merit. Paper 2 (General Studies): 100 MCQs, 300 marks, 2 hours duration. Topics: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, Mental Ability. Each correct answer: +3 marks; each wrong answer: -0.3 marks. Based on written exam marks, candidates equal to 6 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for interview.

- 6Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Conducted as per Bihar Forest Range Officer Service Rules 2013, Rule 8(4). Qualifying in nature (no marks). Standards: Men (all categories): 25 km walk within 4 hours. Women (all categories): 14 km walk within 4 hours.
- 7Men (all categories): 25 km walk within 4 hours.

- 9Physical Measurement Standards (Height & Chest): Unreserved/BC/EBC/SC Men: Min. 163 cm height
- 10Chest: 79 cm (unexpanded), 84 cm (expanded), min. 5 cm expansion. ST Men: Min. 152.5 cm height. Unreserved/BC/EBC/SC Women: Min. 150 cm height. ST Women: Min. 145 cm height. Third Gender: As per BC category standards.

- 18Final Merit List: Prepared on the basis of written exam + interview marks (category-wise). Tie-breaking: by date of birth (older candidate ranked higher), then by educational qualification, then by alphabetical order of name in English as per 10th certificate.

How to apply
- Visit the official website: https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in and go to the ‘Forest Dept.’ tab.
- Click on the link related to Advt. No. 10/2026.
- Register with a valid mobile number and email ID. Registration ID and Password will be sent via SMS/email.
- Complete Part 1 of the online application (registration details: name, nationality, mobile, email, domicile, reservation category, gender, date of birth) and make the payment online.
- Login with the Registration ID and Password to fill Part 2 of the application (father/husband name, mother’s name, address, educational qualification, etc.).
- Upload a recent colour photograph (white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif) and signature in English and Hindi (black or blue ink, white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif).
- Review all details carefully, then click ‘Confirm’ and ‘Submit’ the application.
- After submission, a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile/email. Print the Acknowledgement on A4 size paper and keep it safe for future reference.
- Application fee must be paid online (Net Banking / Credit Card / Rupay Debit Card). Fee once paid is non-refundable.
- Only one online application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will be rejected.
