Selection process

  1. 1Walk-in-Interview will be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur on 13th and 14th August 2026.
  2. 2Candidates must appear with all original certificates, mark sheets, self-attested photocopies, recent passport size photograph, and filled-in Application Form.
  3. 3Selection will be based on the performance and overall assessment of the candidates by the Selection Committee.
  4. 4The result of the interview will be published on the Institute’s website or communicated via email.
  5. 5Candidates currently engaged in CSIR-CMERI or any other CSIR Lab/Institute must produce NOC from Competent Authority to appear in the interview.
  6. 6No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
  7. 7Hindi/English language can be opted as a medium of communication during the interview.
  8. 8The selection process may continue till late evening/next day; candidates are advised to come prepared accordingly.
  9. 9The decision of CSIR-CMERI in regard to the selection process will be final and binding to all concerned.

  6. Candidates currently engaged in CSIR-CMERI or any other CSIR Lab/Institute must produce NOC from Competent Authority.
  7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
  8. Selection will be based on performance and overall assessment by the selection committee.
Documents and additional conditions

Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates get 5 years relaxation; OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation in upper age limit as per Government of India/CSIR rules. Eligibility Bar: Candidates who have already been engaged in CSIR-CMERI or any other CSIR Lab/Institute as Trainee/Project Assistant/Project Fellow/JRF/SRF/Project Associate/Research Associate etc. for a period of 6 years or more are NOT eligible. Maximum Tenure: Selected candidates’ tenure will automatically end on completion of six years from the date of first engagement in CSIR/CSIR-CMERI projects. Tenure: Tenure mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and liable to be curtailed/extended as per decision of the Competent Authority. In any case, it is co-terminus with the project or till such time the requirement exists, whichever is earlier. Offer of Engagement: Offer letters will be issued subject to availability of funds and approval of the Competent Authority. For Post Code P-26119, offer letters will be issued after receiving requisite fund/project extension letter from CSIR/concerned funding agency. Actual Vacancies: Actual number of positions may vary on the date of the interview. Date of Determination: The date for determining upper age limit, qualification and/or experience will be the date of interview of the respective Post Code. Language: In case of any doubt/discrepancy between Hindi and English versions of the advertisement, the English version will be treated as final.
