- 1The detailed selection procedure has been mentioned in the official notification of Income Tax Canteen Attendant Recruitment 2026. But we are giving you here the short summary of the selection procedure. The candidates are advised to refer to official notification for selection procedure. Selection Procedure: Stage 1 – Scrutiny and Short Listing for Written Examination: 280 candidates (40 per vacancy) will be shortlisted based on percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent exam. Tie-breaking criteria: (i) Older candidate in age; (ii) If still tied, all such candidates are allowed to appear in the written examination. Stage 2 – Objective Type Written Examination: Duration: 30 minutes (40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribes). Total: 40 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. Subjects: English Comprehension (10 Qs), Hindi Comprehension (10 Qs), Food and Nutrition (10 Qs), Quantitative Aptitude (5 Qs), Hygiene and Cleanliness (5 Qs). Marking: +1 for correct answer, -0.25 for incorrect answer. Standard: Matriculation level. Language: Hindi & English (English version prevails in case of discrepancy). Venue: Bhopal, M.P. only. Tie-breaker: (i) Older candidate in age; (ii) More marks in Food and Nutrition; (iii) More marks in Hygiene and Cleanliness. Stage 3 – Skill Test: 70 candidates (10 per vacancy) shortlisted for Skill Test at Bhopal (M.P.) only. Total marks: 60. Evaluates proficiency in preparation of beverages, basic food handling, preparation techniques, presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness. Final Result: Final merit list prepared based on combined performance in Written Examination and Skill Test (total out of 100). 07 candidates selected strictly on merit against caste-wise vacancies. Document Verification: Conducted after declaration of final result. Candidates must produce original certificates. A waiting list will be maintained.

- Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (thumb impression allowed for PwD/PwBD candidates with blindness and low vision).
- Upload required documents: Matriculation Certificate, Community/Caste Certificate (if applicable), Age relaxation documents (if applicable), PwBD Certificate (if applicable), Aadhar Card.
- Submit the application online on or before 31.08.2026 (23:00 hrs).
- Note: Only one application per candidate. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected.
- There is no application fee for any category.

Other Important Information: Probation Period: 2 years. Posting: Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere under the jurisdiction of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. Medical Fitness: Selected candidates shall be subjected to Medical Fitness and Verification of Character Antecedents/Police Verification. PwBD Eligibility: Candidates with 40% or more disability in Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) category are eligible under PwBD category. Scribe Facility: Available for eligible PwBD candidates. Compensatory time of 10 minutes provided to candidates using scribes or eligible but not availing scribe facility. Must be indicated in online application form. NOC Requirement: Candidates already employed in Central/State Government or PSU must submit NOC from present employer. OBC Creamy Layer: OBC candidates must ensure they do not fall in the creamy layer on the cut-off date. EWS Certificate: Must be valid for financial year 2026-2027, issued on the basis of income for FY 2025-26.
